From a detailed analysis of the radial-distribution function by the method of smearing out the coordination peaks, short-range-order parameters of silver were obtained at 1273°K. The possibility of the existence of two types of order was demonstrated. One is based on an icosahedron in first coordination and the other appears in the short-range surroundings as a consequence of the strengthening of the directional interaction on account of the involvement of d-electrons in the bonding, which promote the formation of coordination with directionally interacting units.
