Theoretical calculations of external heat exchange for tank glass furnace are carried out using a three dimensional mathematical model. The analysis of temperature fields and heat absorption fields showed that the optimal torch length corresponding to 0.5-0.75 of the furnace width was observed for different methods of fuel supply. It is shown that the torch length and the feed type (bottom or side feeding) influence the heat exchange processes in the charge melting zone.
