N2 - Design of glass furnaces is improved. Therefore, new refractory materials are required for the furnaces. It has been shown that baddeleite-corundum materials are very suitable for the furnaces. Investigations of application of the materials have been performed. Results of the investigations have shown that efficient cooling of the materials in the furnaces is required. In connection with this, forced ventilation of the furnaces has been considered. Its influence on heat transfer from the furnace to environment has been studied.
