The domain configuration corresponding to the spatially nonuniform (with a gradient of 0.64 K/mum) temperature field including the temperature of magnetic compensation has been studied for the first time in ferrimagnetic gadolinium-cobalt films. New effects of the domain structure behavior near the compen sation temperature have been found. They depend on the rate of the attenuation of the demagnetizing ac magnetic field. It was shown that the multidomain gadolinium-cobalt amorphous films can be used as sensor media for topographing strongly nonuniform stationary temperature fields.
