The problem of optimal control is investigated for the model of transversal oscillations of semi-infinite string with moving fastening point. The co-ordinate of fastening point serves as the control parameter for determination of optimal control of the region form in hyperbolic controllable system. The existence of optimal control is proved as well as necessary conditions for optimal control are derived.
