Diffraction of a focused beam of 50-100 keV electrons, directed at narrow angles to the surface of a metal drop, permitted to obtain information on the near order structure parameters in melts with different parts of covalent interaction. Problems of electron diffraction pattern recording for the melt surface layers, separation of the summary structural factor into constituents and intensity angular dependences transformation into distribution functions for two-dimensional isotropic medium, were considered. A decrease in coordination numbers in near the surface layers, as compared with volumetric ones, is pointed out and assumptions are made on the reason for the difference. Data on ordering region extent suggest the existence in near the surface layers of copper and gold of microorderings in five-six and those of germanium - in nine atomic diameters.
