Electric vehicles are introducing new challenges and opportunities into the power distribution network. On the other hand, there is increasing enthusiasm for integrating renewable energy sources like wind and solar into the electricity grid due to their abandonment and to meet the ever-growing energy demand. In this research, a residential type of electric vehicle charger is designed with Grid-to-Vehicle G2V and Vehicle-to-Grid V2G capabilities. A photovoltaic solar panel is integrated into the charging system by the common DC line. The purpose of such integration is to improve the stability of the DC line and increase the power capacity of the system during the V2G operation. This auxiliary power will benefit both the electric vehicle owner and the power-grid operator. For achieving these objectives, three power converters were utilized, and three controllers have been developed to maintain their operation. This work aims to analyze the charging station performance for both modes of operation.
