Our study investigates gender gap inequality in the IT-sphere in the context of Belgium, France, Poland, and the Netherlands. Anecdotal evidence shows that IT-sphere has relatively high entry barriers for women. On the other hand, IT advancement can promote accessibility to the labor market. By using the data from the PIAAC survey and matching the data by PSM, we observe that gender wage gap exists when controlling for similar characteristics of respondents. When conducting OLS regression on the matched data including several control variables we obtain the consistent result.
