The author reviews the People's Republic of China's distinctive vision of the milestones of the 20th century, namely, the World War II, the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet People and the Chinese People's Anti-Japanese War. The Chinese view on the Soviet aid to China during the war, the role of the Soviet Union and the role of China in gaining the definitive victory over Nazism, fascism and militarism are also considered. The article outlines the origins and the development of the PRC's policy to promote these views inside China and all over the world by means of academic, cultural and media discourses. The research and the explanations are based on the analysis of a significant number of sources and the examination of up-to-date development trends.
