The article presents a theoretical review of research on traditional Chinese sports culture in the context of the substantiation of the project "Fundamentals of traditional sports Culture in the professional training of future sports teachers». The following research methods are used: the methods of information retrieval and literature analysis, the method of comparison and the classification method. The study examined the influence of the main Eastern philosophical schools (Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism) on the formation of Chinese traditional sports culture. The differences between Eastern and Western sports cultures were revealed, and the classification of traditional Chinese sports was given. The analysis of this study of the influence of traditional Chinese health practices on students proves that they have a high positive effect on the physical development and psycho-emotional state of students and schoolchildren. The authors note a decrease in depressive states, an increase in self-regulation and students’ psychological stability. We have revealed that at present Chinese health practices are actively being introduced into the physical education program for students of both basic and medical groups. These practices introduction indicates their popularization among young people. Studies have revealed that qigong and tai chi classes also have a therapeutic effect on people with diseases of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. The article discusses the goals and objectives of the project, presents the names of modules, pedagogical and educational technologies for its implementation.
