The article is devoted to the analysis of practices of informing the population of the region about the work of municipal organizations providing public services. On the basis of quite extensive theoretical material and materials published in the media, the main areas of information, issues of interaction between the media and press structures were identified and analyzed. Among these areas are budgeting issues, the work of offices and branches of municipal organizations, new opportunities that municipal organizations have to serve the population. A feature of the analysis of practices is the appeal to the media of various typologies — the state newspaper, an independent online publication of regional significance and the city online publication. The comparison of approaches to the studied issue of media of different forms of ownership and implementing different media strategies makes the results of the presented analysis more indicative, and the conclusions given at the end of the article sound more convincing.
