The level and method of remuneration for the work of doctors and medical personnel has a direct impact on the level of efficiency of the healthcare system. The success of the examination and treatment of the patient depends on the satisfaction of the doctor. Doctors should also take part in managing the costs of the medical organization. The subject of the study is the method of financing the costs of doctor’s payments in Russia. The article considers the main world methods of remuneration for doctors. An assessment of the characteristics of the methods is given and options for their application in Russia are proposed in accordance with the key priorities for the development of healthcare. The currently used method of remuneration requires adjustments, since only one method dominates, which cannot significantly contribute to the changes in financial condition of medical organizations.
