The article studies in detail the conception of the French philosopher and sinologist F. Jullien. On the basis of this conception two linguistic approaches are considered: symbolic, entrusted to the Western thinking since antiquity, and allusive, the origins of which are observed in Taoism. These approaches determine the formation of two alternative ontologies that are relevant in modern times.
