In the period of development of a new information society, it is extremely important to study from a scientific point of view such a social group as state civil and municipal employees due to the fact that they are the ones who make and implement state decisions. The article examines this social group from a sociological standpoint, in terms of its characteristics such as: numerical composition, income, position, prestige, level of professionalism, education, gender. During the analysis of the conducted research, it was revealed that this is a fairly cohesive, relatively well-off, although from the point of view of income, it is not a homogeneous social group. Quite educated, constantly improving her professional skills. But, the majority of the population expresses a lot of complaints about her. This indicates the need for further development of consciousness and professional activity of its representatives.
