This scientific paper is devoted to the evaluation of the effectiveness of the transfer of management technologies in the organization of international joint ventures. The authors of this article proposed a combined methodical approach that uses quantitative (financial, objective) performance indicators of joint ventures and subjective, based on interviews with managers of parent and subsidiary companies. The approach proposed by the authors avoids the limitations associated with the validity of survey results and the narrow interpretation of financial ratios. The proposed approach can be used to evaluate both existing international joint ventures and when designing their creation. It should be noted that there is no single approach to determining the performance indicators of an international joint venture to date. Taking into account the limitations of each indicator, their combinations are the most effective. The use of subjective and objective indicators proposed by the authors of this article in evaluating the activity of SMEs seems to be more productive than the evaluation alone. Moreover, the subjective performance measures, the use of different respondents' data, including the management of the joint venture and parent companies, are extremely important. In addition to this approach, attention should be paid to indicators such as sustainability and learning.
