Studying the problem of introducing distance education technologies has become particularly relevant during the period of restrictive measures on coronavirus. The crisis situation has demonstrated the shortcomings of the education system around the world that have long limited its general accessibility. The aim of the paper is to highlight the main problems in pre-school further education that have been exacerbated during the COVID-19 period. The results of interviews with representatives of children's educational centres in Ekaterinburg, as well as data from an online survey of parents of pre-school children, were analyzed to reach this goal. Based on these results, the author concludes that the system of pre-school supplementary education is not ready for the prompt implementation of distance educational technologies due to the presence of technical problems, the lack of necessary competences of teachers, as well as the lack of formalities in the need for such a format of education among parents of preschoolers.
