The article presents the authors’ point of view on the definition and phenomenon of the culture of laughter as a way of producing, translating, and consuming the funny. The authors analyze the situations of laughter as structural units of the culture of laughter as well as specific features of functioning the culture of laughter on three levels of its existence: social, group and individual. The article introduces new definitions of laughter, the situation of laughter and the culture of laughter.
