The literature on the application of the heat treatment of high-strength automotive steels based on the carbon redistri- bution between martensite and untransformed austenite during quenching and partitioning is reviewed. The possibility of implementation of quenching-partitioning heat treatment providing the presence of an increased amount of retained austenite in the microstructure has been experimentally shown on the example of silicon-containing steels with high hardenability.
