Checking the construct validity of the questionnaire "Adolescent Coping Scale" by Erica Frydenberg and Ramon Lewis (the adapted test "Youth coping scale"), which is intended for the diagnosis of three styles of coping (productive, social, non-productive) has been held. The factorisation of the data has not confirmed these three styles of coping. A comparative analysis of the structure of strategies of coping in students of psychological and medic specialisation has revealed that the dominant type of emotional response is characteristic for both subgroups. Future psychologists recognise the existence of the problem situation; future physicians deliberately block encountered difficulties and undertake distraction.
