The article highlights two trends, asexualization and androgynization, which have become increasingly visible in psychology of our contemporaries. The first trend's focus is on people's voluntary refusal to engage in sexual intercourse with their partners. It is typical of people of active reproductive age and, therefore, it can have a significant impact on the demographic dynamics. The second trend is the disappearance of reliable specific differences between the average samples of men and women, which were previously quite pronounced in each gender's profile. Theoretical assumptions about the possible causes of these phenomena are supported by a practical study of a random sample comprising fifty-six heterosexual couples. Both of these trends, each to its own degree, were found in the surveyed sample.
