The article deals with typical interpretations of the military patriotic behavioral model in warfare conditions in the Russian and American military media discourse of the 20th-21st centuries. The aim of the article is to identify the approaches towards military patriotic model formation represented by spoken and visual means of military media discourse. The comparison of speech and behavior of participants of the American and Russian media discourse in warfare conditions devoted to long-term wars of the 20th century within the framework of social and cultural context in different periods of discourse elements formation, gives psychological and linguistic grounds for the structure of perception of such models and helps describe their role in the attitude towards the events and people of that time and their behavioral models. The results of the undertaken research show the effectiveness of the approaches which influence the addressee`s perception of the individual importance in war and his typical ethno-cultural structure, forms of patriotism with emphasis on special selection of language means. The described approaches based on historical, comparative, intertextual and transformational methods of analysis can be applied not only in linguistic research, but also in political and sociological studies. It is reasonable to use the above mentioned approaches as patterns for stimulus materials in the work of psychologists, in the preparation of extreme situations specialists, and for critical reconsideration in youth up-bringing. The analyzed military patriotic models are quite topical and the revealed aspects of their formation and functioning throw light on the peculiarities of such methods of spoken and visual influence on the addressee in the context of his national identity
