This article discusses the problem of household’s personal financial planning in difficult economic situations. The overdue and total debt of individuals to banks and NPOs is analyzed through the periods 01.02.2019-01.09.2019. Every month, the total debt of individuals increases by 261 040 million rubles. Also, according to statistics from the Central Bank of Russia, the average cash credit check grew by twenty-eight percent, reaching two hundred and sixty-eight thousand rubles. Reasons that lead to increasing the debt burden of citizens are revealed. The growth rate of unsecured consumer lending is much faster than the growth of nominal incomes and wages of the population. An assessment is given to the dynamics of the debt load of the population. Examples of the possibility of introducing the provision of financial planning services by banking organizations are given. Based on the analysis, the author concludes that increasing the financial literacy of the population and digitalization have a positive effect on improving the living standards of the population and have a beneficial effect on the well-being of citizens. The possibility of developing the product by connecting to the financial planning of artificial intelligence is considered. The author presented several ways to implement the development of this product.
