The article presents the author's approach to the essence of the concept of success of the teaching staff, formed on the basis of the analysis of existing theoretical views. As a result of the theoretical research, a matrix of criteria for the success of teaching staff is proposed, which allows to identify the consistency of values and interests of an employee from among the academic staff with other stakeholders involved in the activities of the university, which in turn has a significant impact on increasing its (university) competitiveness.
