Transformation of job function in the face of accelerated technology advancement and increasing use of professional standards is examined. Quantitative and qualitative features of a job function, and its inter-relation with professional standards are surveyed. The inference is made that a change in job activities (introduction of new techniques) does not implies a job function change.
