The following practices of Joseph Stalin’s cult of personality construction were detected and described: the persistent use of «the vozhd’» nomination; the reproduction of the cliched slogans glorifying the leader; the construction of the deified father image, close to every inhabitant of the country, yet at the same time immensely distant and endowed with an almost divine status. In addition, the contradiction between the hypertrophied image of Stalin in the media discourse and the absence of actual sensational events with direct participation of Stalin, that would demonstrate his extraordinary character traits is marked out.
