The article deals with the phenomenon of «growing up» of students in connection with Life Long Learning. Institutional, organizational, technological flexibility and adaptability, universities, their readiness for this challenge are explored. The understanding of gerontoeducation as a source of positive transformation of universities. The results of the study of "silver" universities are generalized – the prerequisites for their appearance, their models, the pedagogical technologies used, regulatory legal, organizational and socio-cultural foundations, economic and financial mechanisms.
