The article presents the results of the research and educational communities typical of the Russian metropolis of Yekaterinburg. In focus - teachers’ opinion about the nature of the relationship between teachers and parents. It is shown that changes in the schooling system increase tension between the educational communities, giving rise, including a growing mistrust of teachers to parents.It is concluded that in the conditions of growing demands of parents for quality education, the mismatch between expectations and performances of the roles of teachers and parents, activating the social activity of parents, representatives of educational communities need to seek new forms and methods of interaction based on the principles of social partnership.
