Scientific and technological progress, modern technologies raise the question of the death of some professions, the release of workers, replacing people with robots, etc. The problem of employment and changes in the sphere of labor relations is being updated in connection with the widespread use of remote work, a situation that many workers are forced to face at the moment. The traditional idea of the correlation of labor rights and obligations of the employee and the employer is changing, the labor function of workers is changing. The purpose of this article is to study the labor function of workers and its transformations in modern conditions. To achieve the goal, the following tasks were set: the study of the concept of “labor function”; study of the practice of applying legislation on changing labor functions; determining the prospects for the further development of labor legislation under the influence of digital technologies
