FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous and ferrous metallurgy and can be used for production of alumina and high-aluminous cement from low-quality pyritized high-silica low-ferrous bauxites. Method involves bauxite burning, wherein burnt bauxite is treated with water in cooling area of tubular rotary kiln to form steam-gas medium above surface layer of mixed bauxite in all areas of kiln and steam curtain in burnt product discharge area. After that, caustic alkali NaOH and water are added to desulphurated burnt bauxite outside kiln, itis broughtto concentration of calculated nine-water sodium metasilicate Na2SiO3*9H2O, and obtained mixture is subjected to chemical enrichment in autoclave with extraction of desulphurated low-silica high-aluminous concentrate and nine-water sodium metasilicate.
EFFECT: technical result consists in integrated treatment of burnt bauxite with simultaneous improvement of production efficiency, as well as in production of desulphurated low-silica high-aluminous concentrate.
