The article presents a new typology of problems in social sciences basing on cognitive and social-cultural functions performed by science in modern society. This typology includes six types of problems: the problems of existence, description and classification, explanation, prediction, practical implementation (innovative) and reflexive. It is generally identical to the typology of problems in natural sciences and technical knowledge, but has specific features.
