For more efficient decomposition of sulfonic acid cation exchanger KU-2×8, the concentration of the iron(II) sulfate additive is reduced from 0.1 to 10.0 mmol/l with the additional introduction of alkali to establish the pH of the reaction mixture equal to 7.9-8.1 and the process is carried out at 313-333 K. EFFECT: reducing the process time, the amount of residual solid phase, and reducing the number of stages by eliminating the additional step-by-step introduction of the oxidizing agent. 1 cl, 1 tbl.
