The article examines cases of unsuccessful interaction between the elements of a creolized media text, its verbal and non-verbal components. Since illustrations in the modern media text are of great importance and the understanding of the creolized text implies the simultaneous perception of the verbal and the visual, the combination of the picture and the text should be especially balanced, clear and easy to perceive for the addressee. The article deals with cases of ambiguity, wordplay and meaninglessness that arise as a result of an ill-considered combination of verbal and non-verbal parts of the text. The author comes to the conclusion that errors in the comparison of text and visual elements of the message can lead to a decrease of the image of the publication, its audience, trust in the media platform as a whole, etc.
