The article discussed the use of virtual synchronous machines (VSM) to improve the reliability of the microgrid as part of the gas compressor station power supply system. A comparison of the VSM and the classical inverter (VSI) was carried out. To demonstrate the reaction of VSM to power supply voltage drops and interruptions, mathematical modeling using the Matlab/Simulink and the Simscape library was carried out. The influence of the VSM coefficients on its behavior and inertia, as well as on the inertia of the power supply system as a whole, has been confirmed.
