The article presents a linguistic analyses of the adjective lipovyj (linden from linden tree, jargon meaning - forged) as used to express a negative attitude. The adjective lipovyj is frequently used in contemporary speech to describe numerous negative factors and occurrences in everyday life. The authors investigate the lexeme lipovyj and distinguish the development of new secondary meanings.
