Peter Stolypin became prime minister of Russia in 1906, and at once began to carry out the reforms. He understood well the logic of historical stage and the scale of reform-related tasks, which he always approached with creativity. His reforms had covered many aspects of the state and its society, and were intended to achieve important strategic goals: Stolypin wanted make Russia one of the leading countries in the world.
