Durometric, metallographic, and X-ray diffraction methods were used in studying a 150KhNM roll weld faced with 4Kh5MFS powder wire. The mechanisms of change in the fine structure and properties of the composite during tempering were studied using the results of layer-by-layer analysis. Tempering of the facing layer of the roll increases its wear resistance and thermal erosion resistance.
