The current paper aims to shed light on the effectiveness of using cutting-edge technologies, namely Quizlet, to enhance vocabulary learning. The case study focuses on the first-year Computer Science students (n=121) who were tested on some less frequently used lexis of A2 and B1 levels. Some of them were then taught these vocabulary units as well as some extra ones using the mobile application and the online platform Quizlet in order to be re-tested later, whereas the other half was simply given a list of these new words and expressions to learn on their own. Consequently, there are three stages in this experiment. The choice of this platform for these learners can be accounted for by the fact that Computer Science students are likely to get most of the information in the digital format and thus such an application is bound to enhance their learning experience. The results and conclusions have been made based not only on the second testing of the respondents but also on their own accounts of the degree of their satisfaction with the learning methods offered.
