A solvent-free reaction of 5-cyano-1,2,4-triazines with 4-amino-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiols was studied. The reactions take place only at elevated temperature (200 °C) and unexpectedly produce 5-amino-1,2,4-triazines in the yields up to 36%.
