The article is devoted to the features of linear induction machines for technological purposes. For example, in some cases, the secondary may be smaller than the linear inductor. A mathematical model and a method of calculating linear induction machines with a short secondary are proposed. The paper also provides examples of simulated secondary trajectories within the working area of a linear inductor-based eddy current separator.
