The reproducibility of the contact angle of barium borosilicate glass on a steel substrate as a function of the method of preparation of the glass specimens is investigated. The contact angle is determined by the sessile drop method at 750, 760, 770, and 790°C. The minimum scattering of data corresponds to glass specimens in the form of drops obtained by preliminary fusing of glass powder on an inert substrate (chamotte).
