N2 - Utilization of the red slimes of alumina production is an ecological problem. Experiments on the red slime fusion confirmed the possibility of their reprocessing into iron-carbon alloy and slag during one stage. A rational mode of loading the raw materials in a furnace when remelting was established. The characteristics of gas-dust effluents were determined. It is noted that in the process of red slime remelting the rare earths are accumulated in the slag.
