N2 - A device has been developed and promoted to reduce rolled stock going to scrap due to the wall thickness. High precision tubes made of steels ShKh15, 08Kh18N10T, 12Kh1MF, 15KhM, 30KhMA, 40Kh and 10 to a tolerance for the wall thickness of ±(7.5-10)% are obtained. If an initial transverse difference in wall thickness exceeds 15%, then a former is indicated. A former offer a saving in metal as much as 100 kg/t. In the course of large-scale testing, 19 thou m of tubes has been rolled with 1% of them going to scrap due to the wall thickness.
