In this work the authors calculated the solubility (equilibrium concentration at a given temperature) of an ideal gas in a metal. They assumed that, during dissolution on metal-gas boundary, the gas molecules dissociate into atoms which occupy interstitial positions and some of the vacant sites in the crystal.
