N2 - At Bakal'skoe deposit, brown iron ore and siderite ore are mined. Reserves of siderite ore are large, however, particularities in preparation of siderite ores lead to difficulties in their application in blast furnaces. High content of MgO in siderite is negative factor. Firing of siderite ores is complex process and costs are high. One of the main methods of siderite ore preparation is sintering. Technology for sintering the siderite ores with the use of coke fines has been developed. Methods of cooling the sinter have been offered. Heat treatment of sinter is performed. Optimal granulometric composition of charge has been determined.
