The successful application of computer aided automated roll pass design to the rolling of steel angles on a 320/150 mill is described. The design obtained has the optimum shape and number of passes and minimum energy requirements for deformation. Industrial use of the roll pass designs together with rapid rolling schedules has confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed roll pass design.
