From the optical data obtained by gravimetric and chemical methods for the thermal dissociation process of chloridizing products of iridium in molten alkali chlorides, a mathematical equation is set up, which describes the extraction rate of metallic iridium from the melt. The adequacy of the model is demonstrated by an experiment. Magnitudes of the formal rate constant and activation energy are obtained for the process.
