The influence of rolling conditions on the texture formation of hot rolled stock of 45, 30, and 12 mm diameter has been examined. The influence of the length of the deformation zone and the average thickness of the stock (i.e. the relative length of the deformation zone) on the microstructure of 09G2S low carbon steel has been investigated. Rolling schedule recommendations are formulated on the basis of the results of studying the distribution of parameters of the microstructure and texture over the cross-section of stock as a function of the rolling parameters.
