A three-dimensional zonal model is proposed for a study of external heat transfer in a sheet-glass tank furnace's segment corresponding to the second pair of ports with side and bottom fuel admission to the port. It was found that with bottom fuel admission the melt has a higher heat absorption and the arch temperature is reduced.
