This article examines the development of foreign language communicative competence of students to describe infographics from the perspective of cross-cutting technologies. On the one hand, students of educational programs in the field of computer sciences should possess knowledge of cross-cutting digital technologies for completing educational tasks. On the other hand, cross-cutting educational technologies are needed in formation of digital and foreign language competences of students of educational programs in the field of both computer sciences and humanities. The purpose of this article is to determine the methodology of teaching the description of infographics in a foreign language to students of educational programs in the field of computer sciences and humanities in higher educational institutions. The authors of the article consider the characteristics of various levels of competence in the presentation of research findings, determine the stages of formation of foreign language communicative competence for the description of infographics, demonstrate the results of the formation of digital habits and competences of students of educational programs in the field of computer sciences and humanities in higher educational institutions. As a result of the study, the authors come to the conclusion that cross-cutting technologies are essential in education for the formation and development of the necessary level of digital and foreign language competences of students of all fields of training in the university.
