Thermodynamic calculations of possible interaction reactions of the system MgO-MgCr2O4-MeC (Me=Si, Ti) was carried out. Baking of the system MgO-MgCr2O4 with dopes of titanium and silicon carbides was studied. The maximal density (96% of the theoretical one) of baked samples of mixture MgO-MgCr2O4 was achieved when the mass content of TiC or SiC made 0.5% and burn temperature made 1850°C.
